Signed by Post, in pencil, recto. Post, a colleague of Alfred Stieglitz, was active from the mid 1880s through the 1910s. His work, which focused on the Maine landscape and its seasonal variations, was highly influenced by both Japanese art and Asian scroll paintings. Post's intimate platinum prints have been described as "subtle, poetic and delicately understated." NOTE: Larger scan available on request
