|Untitled, Yakama (?) woman and child|
|Gelatin silver (printed out), ca. 1910|
On an ornately embossed card mount. NOTE: The Yakama reservation, located along the Yakima River, covers an area of approximately 1.3 million acres. Today the nation is governed by a Council which consists of representatives of 14 tribes and bands. The details of this photograph do not, however, provide a definite identification of the subjects. It is also possible that the two figures are members of the Umatilla Reservation, in the foothills of the Blue Mountains (northeastern Oregon and southeastern Washington), or are Kountenai, from western Montana.
