In its original paper sleeve with two "Aetna Portrait Co, J. L. McKenna, Manager. 271 So. W. Temple, Salt Lake City, Utah." rubber stamps in light purple ink on verso, in the manner of seals that would indicate if the original sleeve was tampered with.
The Aetna Portrait Company was owned by James McKenna and managed by his brother John L. McKenna. It was in business at the same address in Salt Lake City as late as 1901, though it seems to have almost escaped notice, even in the most comprehensive directories of western (US) photographers.
