With Braun's Dornach stamp mount recto. Mount verso bears his studio stamp and seal and a period paper label with the printed title "Intérieur des Arènes / Vue instantanée."

The Roman amphitheatre in the southern French town of Arles was built around 1 B.C. It seated 20,000 spectators on three tiers, and was painted by Vinent Van Gogh in 1888 (Les Arènes, depicting a crowd attending a bullfight).
