Brady's National Photographic Portrait Galleries (Washington, D.C., United States)
Portrait of Civil War Brevet Brigadier General Aaron Fletcher Stevens.
Albumen print, Carte-de-visite, mid 1860s
With "Brady / New York" printed mount recto. Printed mount verso is the logo for Brady's National Photographic Portrait Galleries. Penciled in a later (?) hand is "Albert Steavens."

Looking at a later portrait, this man is more likely to be Aaron Stevens (1819 - 1887), the substitution of "Albert" and the misspelling of the last name is understandable for someone writing the name sometime after the war.

Aaron Stevens served at Harpers Ferry and was later wounded in the Battle of Fredericksburg. After the war he served two terms in the House of Representatives for his home state of New Hampshire.
