With the title, photographer's name and "N.Y. Photogravure Co." printed on lower border below image. An unusual detail is the etched image of a sickle, intersecting the lower left corner of the photogravure.
This was one of Stiegliz's early (the photographer lived in Germany until 1895), but important images from this period. It was published in several sources and portfolios, including "The Photographic Times" in 1898. When it was reprinted by the N.Y. Photogravure Company, ca. 1900, the sickle was added to the image.
